The "Control Systems" Conference is an international meeting in the area of process measurements and controls and systems engineering for the pulp and paper industry. The conference series has been given on a regular basis since 1982 (with a few exceptions).
The series was started by Lennart Eriksson and Sven Gunnar Edlund at STFI in Sweden. Soon SPCI, (the Swedish Society for Paper and Cellulose Engineers) joined in and later also its counterparts in Finland and Canada. Now also Tappi in the US is a part of the organising team.
It was decided that the conference should be arrangad bi-anually and then alternate between Scandinavia and North America.
