CONTROL SYSTEMS 2022

You are invited to present at Control Systems 2022 which will be co-located VIRTUALLY with PaperWeek 2022 - February 7 & 8, 2022 on an MSTeams platform.

Held every two years, the Control Systems Conference is an international gathering in the area of process measurements and controls, and systems engineering for the pulp and paper industry. Due to the Covid pandemic, the 2020 edition, which was to have taken place along with SPCI's event, had to understandably be cancelled.

For 2022 it will be co-located with PaperWeek, which is taking place VIRTUALLY February 7-11, 2022. The Process Control sessions are scheduled for Monday February 7th and Tuesday February 8th, from 10:00-11:30.

PaperWeek is PAPTAC’s flagship conference serving the pulp & paper and forest products industry and includes sessions in papermaking, bleaching, energy, environment, reliabiity, safety, manage- ment, tissue making and the bioeconomy.

Control Systems 2022 will emphasize both practical implementation of and leading research efforts on new and emerging process control technologies of interest to the paper industry. We invite you to submit an abstract to present your paper at the conference.  Relevant topics include:

  • AI
  • data analytics
  • paper machine control applications
  • sheet measurement technologies
  • process control diagnostics
  • imaging and machine vision applications
  • pulp mill measurements and controls
  • other relevant P&P Measurement and control topics


All technically sound papers on various topics concerning pulp and paper control systems and related subjects will be considered and peer-reviewed for acceptance by an international program committee.

NOTIFICATION OF ACCEPTANCE: JANUARY 12, 2022 (Accepted abstracts will have to provide an extended abstract and a copy of the speaker's PowerPoint presentation by end-January 2022)

CONFERENCE DATES:  MONDAY FEBRUARY 7th and TUESDAY FEBRUARY 8TH - 10:00- 11:30

(PaperWeek will run Monday February 7th to Friday Feb 11th).
