The 22nd Control Systems conference will be cohosted with PulPaper in Finland, April 9-12 2024.

The conference is hosted by PI (The Finnish Forest Products Engineers' Association) in cooperation with SPCI, Sweden, PAPTAC, Canada and TAPPI, USA.


Tentative plans

The current plan is to organise the Control Systems conference in parallell to the PulPaper 2024 conference and exhibition in Helsinki, Finland.

Tentative dates:

  • April   9     Start of Conference. Welcome Reception in the evening
  • April 10     Start of Exhibition, Conference day 2,  Gala Dinner
  • April 11     Exihition day 2
  • April 12     Reserved for Mill Visits



You are invited to present at Control Systems 2024 which will be co-located with PulPaper 2024 - April 9-12, 2024 in Helsinki, Finland

Held every two years, the Control Systems Conference is an international gathering in the area of process measurements and controls, and systems engineering for the pulp and paper industry.

PulPaper is PI’s flagship conference serving the pulp & paper and forest products industry and includes sessions in papermaking, bleaching, energy, environment, reliabiity, safety, management, tissue making and the bioeconomy along with an exhibition where significan suppiers presnet important new products and tools.

Control Systems 2024 will emphasize both practical implementation of, and leading research efforts on new and emerging process control technologies of interest for the forest based industry. We invite you to submit an abstract to present your paper at the conference. 
Relevant topics include (but are not limited to):

  • applications of AI in the industry
  • data analytics
  • paper machine control applications
  • sheet measurement technologies
  • process control diagnostics
  • imaging and machine vision applications
  • pulp mill measurements and controls
  • other relevant P&P Measurement and control topics

All technically sound papers on various topics concerning pulp and paper control systems and related subjects will be considered and peer-reviewed for acceptance by an international program committee.
